LOTV Back to School Challenge Card

Just a quick post to show the Back To School card that I've made.  I did manage to get a couple of DT cards done as well so I'm quite pleased with how I got on today.

Back to school cards aren't something I normally do but I've had this stamp for ages and it was crying out to be used.

I've used the LOTV image "Back to School Girl" and she's been coloured with copics.  The layout is based on a sketch over at The Pixie Cottage.  The DP's are from the MME paper pack, "Lime Twist - Fly A Kite".

Creative Craft Challenge - Just Charming and a DT Call

Did everyone have a great bank holiday?  No work for me until Thursday...I'm up to date with the housework (well sort of) so I think a couple of days of crafting is due (am going to try to get ahead of my DT work...not sure that will happen though, might just start playing instead!!) anyway time for a new challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges. This fortnight the theme is "Just Charming" so we need to see lots of charms on your projects.

For my card I have used the digi image "Folk Snowman by one of our sponsors Little Clare Designs.  Its been coloured with copics and distress ink.  I'm not sure what the DP's are, I'll investigate further and amend this post if I discover where they're from.

Creative Craft Challenge - Anything but a card.

I have no idea where this last fortnight has gone!!!!  I can't believe it's time for a new challenge over at Creative Craft.

The theme for this fortnight is "Anything but a card" and I've got  two projects to share....

The first is a notebook.   I've used an image by one of our sponsors "Dragon Lair Designs" called "Jiggy goes Back to School" coloured with copics.  The DP's are from the MME paper pack - Lime Twist Out Of The Blue.

My second project is a couple of charm keyrings.  It's been ages since I've used my shrink plastic and I remember why.....

I have used the LOTV image "Dandelion Clock" and the Gorjuss girl image "The Owl".  Both of these have been coloured with coloursoft pencils.

Crafty Calendar August Challenge - Hot Colours

It's time for Crafty Calendar's August challenge.  It was Jenni's turn to pick a theme this month and because August is a hot month (we have had a couple of days!!) we want to see HOT COLOURS on your projects.

For my card I have used the Some Odd Girl image "Beachy Tia" and she looks ready for the sun!!!.  The image has been coloured with copics and the hot coloured backing paper is from the paper pack Totally Tropical Summer Papers by Kate Knight which came free with this months issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft.

Have a Wizard birthday !!!!!

Just a quick post to share the card I made for Martyn's birthday.    I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday, and he decided we would go to see the new Harry Potter film, so it was only fitting that he had a wizard themed card.

I've used the LOTV image "Abracadabra" coloured with copics.  The DP's are from the MME paper pack - Lime Twist Out Of The Blue.  The owl (to represent Hedwig) and the cauldron are from a clear stamp set (I think it's by Woodware)

I love Harry Potter and the new film is absolutely brilliant!!!

Creative craft challenge - Summertime

August is here and it's time for another challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges.  With all the sunshine and warm weather we're now having, it seems fitting that the challenge for this fortnight is Summertime.

I have two cards to share for this challenge, the first is using the digital image Ice Cream Tia by one of our sponsors Some Odd Girl.   The image has been coloured with copics and the DP is by DCWV.  I loved making this card, Ice Cream Tia and the sandcastle (which is a Meljen image) were great to colour and I had so much fun experimenting with different materials trying to get a textured effect for the sand.

I tried Flowersoft which was good but didn't give me the effect I was looking for.  Martyn suggested I try somewhere that sold model making supplies.  In Hobbycraft I found a bag of tiny gravel pieces made by Hornby that which was exactly what I was looking for (I presume model/train enthusiasts use it to build their tracks).  I tried lots of different adhesives but got the best result by using silicone glue to attach it to the card. 

This card is using an image by another of our sponsors, Alfie by Rainbow Studios. The image is coloured with copics ( I was trying to go for summertime colours) and the DP are from the Vicki B Collection paper pack by Bobunny.
