Crafty Calendar November Challenge - Paper Piecing with Dr Digi

Good Afternoon, I hope you are having a fabulous day, my post is a little late today as I have just arrived home from a day out at the Creative Craft Show at the NEC today so feeling a little tired and all shopped out.

I have a card to share today because it's the first Saturday in November so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and the theme for this month is
'PAPER PIECING'

For my card this month I have used the Elliot & Elvis image from Dr Digi coloured with copics for the base and then have printed it onto four different papers from Pink Petticoat which have then been fussy cut and adhered on to the base, one paper for the hat, trousers and present ribbon, another for the jacket and hat rim, a third for the shoes and finally the tag.

Have then just stapled a couple of strips of the paper to the top right of the card,  I haven't added anything else as I didn't want to detract from the main image.

For my card I have used:
Hedgehog Leaves from this months sponsor Lemon Shortbread coloured with copics.

Crafty Calendar September Challenge - Unusual Folds with Lili of the Valley

Good afternoon all.  Have just got in from work so time to fit in a post before I head off out again to the theatre.

It's the first Saturday in September so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and the theme for this month is
"Unusual Folds".

The weather today in the West Midlands is gorgeous so it seems wrong to be posting my card because I went for a Christmas themed image for this months challenge, but I love the bears from this months sponsor Lili of the Valley so just had to use one.

My card for this month is a new one for me, A gatefold easel card....

The image is James in the Snow from Lili of the Valley that I have coloured with copics and added a fluttering of Glamour Dust and the DPs are from the Daisy and Dandelion 'A Winters Tale' Christmas Collection paper pack.   The greeting on the belly band is also from Lili of the Valley.
No embellishments added otherwise I might not have been able to close the card...

Embossed Bird Birthday Cards with Avery Elle and Pretty Pink Posh

Good morning, It's been nearly two weeks since my last post, have been busy with work, lots of overtime at the moment and am also enjoying the world cup (who'd have thought!!) so just haven't had the time to post anything.  No work today due to going to the theatre this afternoon so time to get a little blog post done.

I've got two cards to share today with the same layout, using the same embossing folder but with different colours and stamps.

I've embossed on to white card and the embossed detail has been highlighted using Metallic Rub Ons and I used ink pads to colour the edges of each of the base cards.

The first card is using a couple of images from the the Avery Elle Toucan Party stamp coloured with copics.

The images on the second card are from the Hummingbird Thanks stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh coloured with Copic Atyou Spica Glitter pens.

Just a quick post today because I'm now off to get ready to go to lunch and then the theatre.

Thanks for taking the time stop by my blog and I'll see you soon x

Alcohol Ink Background & My Favorite Things Father's Day Cards

Good Afternoon.  Footie is on so time for a quick post with a couple of Father's Day cards that I made.

A couple of weeks ago I had a play with alcohol inks and created a load of backgrounds so I've decided to use a couple of these for my Father's Day cards.  One in blue for my Dad and one in green for Martyn's Dad

The alcohol ink background has been mounted onto black card,

Dad has been cut using my ScanNcut.  I was after a script font that had little 'tails' on the uppercase letters so that they would weld nicely with the lower case and I found a font online called 'Candlelight' which was perfect for joining the letters together to get the effect I wanted.   I welded the letters in the Brother Canvas, cut it six times from silver card and glued three of them together for each card.

The sentiments are from the My Favorite Things All About Dad stamp set, stamped on black card and embossed in white.

A few drops of silver pearl 3D enamel effects to finish.

Loving the alcohol ink backgrounds and I still have a few left to use on future cards, thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and I'll see you soon x

Distress Oxides and My Favorite Things Bundles of Blossoms Birthday Card

Good morning all.  Are you having a good Saturday,  As well as a workathon week I now decide to go in on a Saturday.....another six hours of work today.....am I mad.....probably.

Todays card is another rainbow effect this time using Distress Oxides.

I stamped the My Favorite Things Bundles of Blossoms Stamp and embossed in white.  I then blended distress oxides over the top of the embossing starting with Candied Apple, then using Fossilized Amber, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet and blending together where they met to try to get a rainbow effect, followed by a spritz of water.

The birthday sentiment is chipboard from Make It Crafty.  I coloured the top layer with copics still trying to keep with the rainbow theme and I then embossed with clear ultra thick embossing enamel, the backing layer is coloured with a black copic marker.  The Happy sentiment is from an old wooden rubber stamp I have in my stash which stamped on black card and embossed in white.

A few sequins and a button to finish.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and I'll see you soon...

Playing with Alcohol Inks and My Favorite Things Magical Unicorns.

Good morning all.  Are you having a good Tuesday.   I'm getting ready for a workathon, from today for the rest of the week I'm working a seven and a half hour day and then I'll be doing another two and a half hours overtime on top of that, so no time for crafting this week I'll definitely be too tired when I get home after my ten hour days....

Luckily I had sometime at the weekend to have play with my alcohol inks so over the coming weeks I have a few cards to share that I made with the results.  I've never really embraced alcohol inks so I thought it was time to give them a whirl instead of them just languishing in a drawer.

For this card I tried a technique that uses alcohol hand sanitiser along with the alcohol inks.

I coated glossy card with hand sanitiser and then added some drops of alcohol inks, I knew I wanted a rainbow effect so just used four colours and blended to get the other rainbow hues.  When the alcohol inks had been added just used my finger to mix them into the hand sanitiser and blended them where I wanted the orange & green then allowed to air dry (don't use a heat tool due to the fumes that it creates).

When it was dry I mounted it onto a 6"x4" card.  The unicorns are from the My Favorite Things Magical Unicorns set.  These were stamped with Memento London Fog ink and coloured with copics.   The sentiment was stamped and embossed in white.

Just a few dots of 3D liquid enamel effects to finish.

Bit of a change for me getting so messy but I quite liked it.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and I'll see you soon....

Crafty Calendar June Challenge - Sheepski Designs Three of Something

Good afternoon to all.  Hope you are having a great day, after some dodgy weather at the beginning of the week today hasn't turned out too bad.  It's been a couple of weeks since I posted.  I had a weeks holiday in Rhodes which was fab, but then it took me a couple of weeks to catch up with all of the jobs that needed doing.  All up to date for the moment.....

It's the first Saturday in June (Can someone tell me where the year has gone....how can it be June already) and we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar.
Our theme this month is
THREE OF SOMETHING.

For my card I have used an image from this months sponsor Sheepski Designs called Flower Bouquet but instead of using the whole image I just printed part of it onto a piece of 5"x5" paper using my Laser printer and then foiled it with green decofoil and my laminator.

The image was then coloured with copic markers

The greeting is an digi stamp that I have (I don't think the company I had it from is still trading) which I also foiled in green.

My three of something is the three dots of 3D liquid enamel.

Feel Better Soon card with Melonheadz Get Well Clip Art

Good morning all.  Happy Wednesday, I hope you are having a good one.  I have a card to share today that I made especially for my five year old niece who had a little accident last week when she fell over and broke her arm.

I managed to find the perfect image for this card over at Melonheadz.
The image is Broken Arm Girl from the Get Well Clip Art Line Art Set which I coloured with Polychromos pencils.

My niece has an orange cast on her arm so the card started with the orange and pink chipboard frame and everything else was co-ordinated with this.

The Feel Better Soon sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Chit Chat stamp set.

Crafty Calendar April Challenge - Buttons or Bows with A Day for Daisies

Good morning all.  Hope you are well and having good day.  I was a bit under the weather all over Easter but I'm just starting to feel a little better so hopefully all the germs are leaving me now.

It's the first Saturday in April so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar.
Our theme for this month is:
BUTTONS and/or BOWS.

For my card I have used
Ducks in a Row digital stamp from A Day For Daisies.
I printed the image and sentiment using my laser printer and then added gold Decofoil by running the image and a sheet of foil through my laminator so that the gold foil adheres to the laser ink.
I coloured the image with polychromos pencils.
I mounted the image on card and added a chipboard flower and a button centre.

I was having so much trouble trying to get a photo that showed that the image was foiled but eventually this one shows that it is actually gold.

Happy Easter Card using Cottontail Cuties from Neat & Tangled

Good afternoon to all and a very happy Easter.
Have you got through all that chocolate yet?  I've resisted so far but may have to open an egg a bit later.

I have another Easter card to share today.  My first attempt of a slider card.  I did cheat a little by using an SVG file that I found on Lori Whitlock and my cricut.
I also made a little bunny gift bag with another SVG file...image and details below..

For my card I have used:
Cottontail Cuties stamp set from Neat & Tangled coloured with polychromos pencils and then cut with my Scan n Cut.
The card layout is an SVG file called Slider Card Easter Bunny from Lori Whitlock.  I just used the card layout sections & clouds from the SVG file and cut with my cricut,
I added the little girl image to the slider section  of the card and so when the tab is pulled she delivers an Easter carrot to the waiting bunny....

The Easter bunny box with goodies in for my niece was cut on my cricut using the Easter Bunny Tote SVG file from Lori Whitlock.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog an I'll see you soon x
