Magnolia Challenge Card for my Grandma

Hope everyone's enjoying the warm weather while it lasts. I was at work today so I missed most of it, but I managed to get a bit of sun when I decided to do the 40 minute walk home instead of catching the bus.

This card is for my Grandma's 87th birthday next weekend. I decided on an easel card and it's based on the sketch over at Friday Sketchers.

I've used the Magnolia stamp "Tilda with presents" coloured with copics. The DP's are from the Forever Friends "Pink Parfait" paper pack.

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Hanglar Four Challenge card

Just a quick post to show this card which I've made using this cute hAnglar image. It took over 3 weeks for the parcel containing these stamps to arrive from Sweden - I thought it had gone the same way as my Magnolia Spring Kit (which never arrived - they have sent me a replacement though, which was delivered today and I can't wait to start playing!!)

The image is coloured with copics and the DP's are Tim Holtz "Vintage Shabby" paper stack and the button paper is K & Co.

I'm entering it in the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sparkly Ladybug

The past four weeks have gone by so quick so here is my last card as part of the GDT over at Papertake Weekly. The theme this week is shiny/sparkly.

I have used the new CC Designs stamp " Ladybug Nora" coloured with copics. The DP's are a mixture of Papermania "Henbury Lane" paper pack (Pink dots) and DCVW "Nana's Kids" mat stack(Ladybugs).

You can't really tell by looking at the picture but the dots on the pink paper are all glittered, the ladybug paper is glittered and so is the green scalloped circle and if that wasn't enough I also added lots of gems. You can never have too much "bling"!!

I'm So Distressed

I don't do distressing very often and I think I got a bit carried away with it on this card.

I have used the Mo's Digital Pencil images "First Mate Kate" and "Pirate Stuff" coloured with copics. The DP's are from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper stack.

I've used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls on the paper edges and lace and then went a bit over the top with my distress tool.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Now I'm off to enjoy May Day - Mountain Ash Crafts have an event on so that sounds like an excuse to visit and then perhaps lunch at the adjoining vineyard, hopefully it's not going to rain!!

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Do Something Different

This card is for my second week as GDT over at Papertake Weekly. The challenge this week is "Do Something Different" - use a technique, card fold or colours you don't normally use.

I decided to make an easel card - I've loved the ones I've seen as I've been blog hopping so I thought it was time I attempted my own.

I have used the Magnolia stamp "Magical Tilda with Wand", the castle on the hill is an digital image called "Cherry Kisses Castle" from Pollycraft and the frog is an Imaginisce Snag 'em stamp.

I would have used the gorgeous little frog from my Magnolia Spring Kit - but mine hasn't arrived !!! I get home from work everyday excitedly thinking surely postie has delivered it - but alas still not here !!! I'm blaming Icelandic volcanic ash !!!!

The images are coloured with copics and the DP's are from the Forever Friends "Pink Parfait" paper pack.

I'm also entering it in the following challenges:

Pollycraft Challenge - Cherry Kisses Frame

This card is based on the sketch over at the Pollycraft Challenge.

I have used the Pollycraft image "Cherry Kisses Frame - Imagine" coloured with copics. The DP's are a mixture of Basic Grey and DCWV.

I had so many problems with this card and I'm still not really happy with how it turned out. I coloured the image last night while watching television and then attempted to make the card when I got back from work today. I had so many problems with what papers to use and tried loads of different combinations before I decided on these.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - GDT card

You may need to put your sunglasses on for the card in this post.

This is my first week as part of the GDT over at Papertake Weekly and the challenge is a fab sketch by Dawny.

I have used the CC Designs Swiss Pixie stamp "Leisel with wheelbarrow" coloured with copics. The DP's are from the Wild Rose Studio paper stack "Milton & Co". I swapped over the image and sentiment because of the stamp I'd decided to use.

These aren't colours that I would ever normally use, but I had an impulsive moment at the NEC and I bought these citrusy (that doesn't look right - is that even a word) flowers and as I looked out of the window Saturday morning when I was making this card the sun was shining, the daffodils were all in flower and I think it must have had an effect on me.

This card is based on the sketch over at Lili Of The Valley. I'm also entering it at Paper Sundaes where this week the challenge is to make a card with no people and Stamp Something where your card has to have layers.

I have used the Lili of the Valley stamp "Thomas - Big bunch of flowers" coloured with copics. The DP's are by My Minds Eye.

I think I might have got a little carried away when I was putting the gems on !!!
