For my card I have used the following die sets:
665673 Robins in Hats (the scarf)

The background has been lightly splattered with white acrylic paint
The sentiment is from the Altenew Seasons Tweetings stamp set

Crafty Calendar December Challenge - Lawn Fawn Ready Set Snow Christmas Card

Good afternoon and I hope you are well today.  I've just got back from a day trip to Donna Nook in Lincolnshire, our annual trip to see the seals and their new pups so I'm a bit late posting today.

It's the first Saturday in December and over at Crafty Calendar we have our final monthly challenge for this year.  And the theme is 'ANYTHING GOES'.

I decided on a shaker card for this month and have used non-traditional colours.

For my card I have used:
Lawn Fawn stamp set 'Ready Set, Snow' coloured with copics.
The snow globe shaker was cut with my Cricut and then coloured with copics.  I cut eight layers of the snow globe and glued them all together to create the shaker so I didn't need to use any 3d foam.
I stamped snowflakes on the pink background using the MFT 'Snowflake Flurry' stamp set.
The pink candy cane stripe frame is an old digital paper from 'Pink Petticoat/The Lovely Studio' called Raspberry Coulis Candy Cane Stripe which I printed and then cut a frame on my Cricut.

As it is the first Saturday in November we have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
'ANYTHING GOES'

For my card I have used:

Sweet Rudolph from Mirtillamente coloured with copics.

The background is ink blended using distress oxides in Black Soot, Villainous Potion, Faded Jeans and Blueprint Sketch and then a light spray of Empty Tomb distress mica stain.

Simon Says Stamp Glow in the Dark Spooky Eyes Halloween Card

Good morning, I hope you are safe and well.  I have a Halloween card to share today.  I had to wait until today after the card had been delivered to the recipient.

For this card I have used:
Spooky Eyes stamp from Simon Says Stamp.
This was stamped onto glow in the dark card, which was challenging, the glow in the dark card has a coating which is like trying to stamp on sandpaper.  I ended up stamping and then coating with black embossing powder to try to get even coverage.
The sentiment is from the Sizzix Bold Text die set

Crafty Calendar October Challenge - Halloween Grave Yard Card

Good afternoon.  I hope you are safe and well.  A bit late posting today due working this morning and I then had an appointment to get my Covid autumn booster jab and when I get back home, I realised I had forgot to schedule my post.

We are now in October and the weather has started to turn colder.  After going on holiday and having hot weather in Paris and at Disneyland at the start of the month I have definitely noticed the change in temperature since I got back.  I had resisted switching on my heating but when I was sitting at my desk working and started to contemplate whether to get a blanket and fill a hot water bottle, I decided it was time to switch the heating on.

Today is the first Saturday in October so over at Crafty Calendar we have a new challenge and the theme this month is:

HALLOWEEN

For my card I have used:

Grave and Bone Yard Scene digital stamp from Oddball Art.  The graveyard and bones scene image has been coloured with copics.
For the sky I have used one of the Stampers Anonymous Layering Moon Masks by Tim Holtz and blended distress oxide inks over it in Black Soot, Villainous Potion and Lucky Clover.
The bats are from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp set CMS451 The Scarecrow embossed in black.
The sentiment is from the Sizzix Bold Text Halloween die set by Tim Holtz.

Crafty Calendar September Challenge - Sheepski Designs Snowboardin Snowman Card

Good afternoon, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Wow can you believe it is September already.    I'm off to Paris for a few days tomorrow so I'm hoping the weather doesn't turn too cold or rainy.

It is the first Saturday of the month so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
'ANYTHING GOES'.

As it is September I felt it was sort of acceptable to do a Christmas themed card.  I don't normally start Christmas cards this early but I have made a couple already..

For my card I have used:
Snowboardin' digi stamp from Sheepski Designs coloured with copics.
The background is ink blended using Distress Oxides in Uncharted Mariner, Broken China and Salvaged Patina.
I then foiled the background using the Spellbinders Celestial Star Background hot foil plate
I'm not sure what you would call the card shape.  I've used this layout previously to create pop-up cards but have just used it as a card base this time and added my snowman snowboarding down the front snowy hill pop out section.
The sentiment is a piece of card coloured with copics so that it colour matched the snowman and I then added a hot foil greeting using one of the plates from the Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments Series 2 Set.

Crafty Calendar August Challenge using Rebel Hero from Paper Nest Dolls

Good afternoon, I hope you are keeping safe and well.   Currently here in Birmingham we are hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games and I was lucky enough to get tickets to some of the events so I have been busy travelling around the region to watch hockey, cricket and swimming.

Today is the first Saturday in August so we have a new challenge over at
Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
Anything Goes.

For my card I have used:
Rebel Hero from Paper Nest Dolls coloured with copics.  I then printed the image again on Frisket masking film and masked off the image so that I could do a distress oxide blended background.

I am a bit or a geek (well maybe a lot of a geek) and I love sci fi and especially Star Wars.  Those of you who aren't as geeky as me you might wonder why there are two suns in the sky.  I have blended my background to give the appearance that my rebel hero is on the Star Wars planet of Tatooine.  It is a sandy desolate planet that orbits a pair of stars...so it has two suns, I told you  I was geeky...

The sentiment was printed using a Star Wars font.

Crafty Calendar July Challenge Card - HettyClare The Hamster Vase

Good afternoon, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Can you believe that it is July already.  I'm hoping the weather is going to improve a bit, it's a bit changeable at the moment.  I would ideally like nice weather on the days that I have got booked off from work during July, August and September but I suppose if it's raining on those days I could always do some crafting.....

It's the first Saturday in July so we have a new challenge for you over at
Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
ADD A RIBBON.

For my card I have used:
  • The Hamster Flower digi stamp from HettyClare coloured with copics.
  • I printed out a second image and I cut out the vase to create a stencil and then I applied Translucent Distress Texture Paste over the vase through the stencil... it gave it a lovely glossy finish you can just about see the shine on the vase where it has a layer of the paste
  • Happy is cut using the Lawn Fawn Scripty Happy Die (cut three from white card and one from a piece of card coloured with pink copics and then layered together)
  • A couple of pieces of ribbon banners in the corner.

Sewing Themed Birthday Card

Good morning.  I hope you are well today.  I have a card to share that I made for my sister-in-law   It was her birthday yesterday so it's safe to share this now.

She loves sewing and needlework so that was the theme for this card.

I have used:
Distress oxide blended background using Faded Jeans, Salvaged Patina and Kitsch Flamingo.
I have sewn a piece of acetate on top to create a pocket.  I don't think I have ever sewn as straight as that...
I have put sequins, paper cotton reels and paper buttons inside the acetate pocket.
With my cricut I have print and cut a sewing machine (sewing machine, cotton reels and buttons are part of a sewing clipart collection from AnneIllustration over on Etsy)
I created and cut the word birthday three times out of white card using my cricut and then glued the cuts together. I also created an offset of birthday, cut this from vellum and layered this underneath.
The white embossed 'Wishing you a Happy' is from the Woodware Birthday Strips stamp set.

Crafty Calendar June Challenge - All Dressed Up Summer Bird Card

Good morning and a happy jubilee weekend to you if you are in the UK.   I'm enjoying the long weekend, we've had some nice weather the last couple of days but it's a bit overcast at the moment, hopefully it will brighten up soon for any jubilee celebrations that are happening today.

It is the first Saturday in June so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
'ANYTHING GOES'.

When my computer told me on the 31 May that it was World Parrot Day (didn't even know that that was a thing) I felt a parrot themed card was in order.

For my card I have used:
Summer Bird by All Dressed Up Stamps coloured with copics and polychromos pencils.
I die-cut some flowers and coloured those with copics and added them to the image with some clear crystal dewdrop embellishments.
The background is two toner sheets from the Gina K Designs Vibrant Vines foil-mates pack that have been foiled with Deco Foil Lime Green and Summer Rainbow.

For my card I have used:
Floral Heart digital stamp from Sheepski Designs printed in pink on pink paper and then coloured with a combination of copics and polychromos pencils.

Sizzix Gladys the Flamingo Home Décor Project

Good morning.  Hope you are well.  I have a home décor project to share today.

Flamingos are one of my favourite birds so when I saw Gladys on the Tim Holtz Sizzix release I couldn't resist her.

I have previously created a flamingo home décor piece using the popular flamingo/pigeons quotation so I went for something different this time.

I created the quotation in Word and printed it using my laser printer.  I ink blended the paper using distress oxides Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina and sprayed this with water.  After this I sprayed it with Winterberry Distress Mica Stain.

Once I'd finished all the inking I used my Minc machine to foil the laser printed quote in gold.

I stamped a couple of layers of the Altenew Leaf Medallion stamp set and embossed with distress embossing glazes in Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina

The flamingo is cut using the Sizzix Gladys Colorise Die Set.
