Crafty Calendar September Challenge - Waffle Flower Sew Fun Birthday Card

Good morning, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  After a summer break we are back over at Crafty Calendar with a new monthly challenge for September.

Our theme for this month is

"Lots of Layers"

For my card I have used:

Waffle flower Sew Fun Die for the Sewing Machine, fabric, threads, scissors and thimble.

Waffle Flower Tiny Square Texture Die for the background coloured using the Waffle Flower Quilted Floral Stencil and Altenew inks.

The sentiment is from the Waffle Flower Birthday Wishes stamp set heat embossed in white

Spellbinders April 2024 Large Die of the Month - Pins and Needles Jar Birthday Card

Good morning I hope you are keeping safe and well on this rainy wet Friday morning.

I have a sewing themed birthday card to share today that I created for my Sister-in-law using dies from the Spellbinders April 2024 club kits.  She loves sewing so this kit was perfect.

I have used for this card:

Spellbinders Pins & Needles Jar - Large Die of the Month April 2024

With this set you get the dies to cut the jar, lid and pincushion and also the dies to cut all of the sewing accessories that are inside the jar.

I cut the jar three times.  On the base layer I ink-blended lightly with some Tumbled Glass Distress ink and glued down all of the assembled sewing elements. 

 The other two jars I fussy cut an aperture and layered a piece of acetate between them and then glued that onto top of the base jar.  I was tempted to add a few shaker bits but I decided not to and left it so you could see the various sewing elements glued inside to the base layer of the jar.

The background is a piece of black card embossed with the Spellbinders Monoline Stars Embossing Folder.

Wally the Walrus Birthday Card Using Sizzix Under the Sea 2

Morning all.  Today have a card to share that was inspired by a trip to Tenby last week.

Currently in Tenby a Walrus has set up residence in the bay which is quite a distance from somewhere in the Arctic where he should be living.  I think it is something like only the 10th record of Walrus ever recorded in the UK so when lockdown eased we headed to Tenby to try to catch a glimpse of Wally the walrus.  We did manage to see him, he spent all of the time in the water while we were there.

So this card features Wally the Walrus.

For my card I have used:

Walrus and Crab are from the Sizzix Under the Sea 2 Die Set - Colorize by Tim Holtz.

Hugs is cut from blue card using the Sizzix Alphanumeric Shadow Upper Thinlits Dies by Tim Holtz and covered with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.

Distress Oxide blended background.

Stamped sentiment is made up from a mix of three stamps.
