Sizzix Santa Greetings and Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie Christmas Tree Decorations

Good morning, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Today I have woken up to a blanket of snow, luckily I work from home so I can look out of the window and think how nice it looks and not have to worry about travelling to work in it.

When I went to the Frankfurt Market in Birmingham I saw a Christmas tree ornament on one of the stalls and that inspired me to make these.

I have made two Christmas tree ornaments which are snowy windows and each of them have a character looking through.

For this Christmas tree ornament I have used the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Cling Mount Stamp: Mr Frostie (CMS499) coloured with copics and then fussy cut.

He was then layered in between the the window frames and snowy acetate

And for this Christmas Tree Decoration I have used Sizzix Santa Greetings Die Set by Tim Holtz layered in between the window frames.

The little sentiments on each of then are from the Lili of the Valley 60 Everything Christmas - Sentiment Labels which I printed using a laser printer and then foiled in gold

I then just added couple of gold pearls to each sentiment, a bow and some gold string.

Crafty Calender May Challenge - Di's Digi Buddy in the Garden Birthday Card

Good morning I hope you are safe and well.  Here in the UK it is the May Day bank holiday weekend, so I'm making the most of the long weekend off work and have travelled to the north-west of England for a little holiday.

It is also the first Saturday in May so over at Crafty Calendar we have a new monthly challenge starting today and the theme this week is
ANYTHING GOES.

For my card I have used:
Buddy in the Garden digital stamp from Di's Digi Stamps coloured with copics.
The background was created using the the Spellbinders Buffalo Plaid Press Plate, a BetterPress Cotton Card Panel and Vintage Photo Distress Archival ink in the BetterPress LetterPress System and then I ink-blended it with Mustard Seed Distress Ink.
The sentiment was hot foiled onto brown cardstock using the Spellbinders You are Everything Sentiments Press Plate and matt gold foil.
The flower was die cut using the Sizzix Small Tattered Florals Thinlet Die Set by Tim Holtz.
I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to the centre of all the flowers and in my stash I found an old bottle of Distress Stickles in Vintage Photo which was the perfect colour I was looking for.

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

Crafty Calendar October Challenge - Halloween Grave Yard Card

Good afternoon.  I hope you are safe and well.  A bit late posting today due working this morning and I then had an appointment to get my Covid autumn booster jab and when I get back home, I realised I had forgot to schedule my post.

We are now in October and the weather has started to turn colder.  After going on holiday and having hot weather in Paris and at Disneyland at the start of the month I have definitely noticed the change in temperature since I got back.  I had resisted switching on my heating but when I was sitting at my desk working and started to contemplate whether to get a blanket and fill a hot water bottle, I decided it was time to switch the heating on.

Today is the first Saturday in October so over at Crafty Calendar we have a new challenge and the theme this month is:

HALLOWEEN

For my card I have used:

Grave and Bone Yard Scene digital stamp from Oddball Art.  The graveyard and bones scene image has been coloured with copics.
For the sky I have used one of the Stampers Anonymous Layering Moon Masks by Tim Holtz and blended distress oxide inks over it in Black Soot, Villainous Potion and Lucky Clover.
The bats are from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp set CMS451 The Scarecrow embossed in black.
The sentiment is from the Sizzix Bold Text Halloween die set by Tim Holtz.

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

Sizzix Gladys the Flamingo Home Décor Project

Good morning.  Hope you are well.  I have a home décor project to share today.

Flamingos are one of my favourite birds so when I saw Gladys on the Tim Holtz Sizzix release I couldn't resist her.

I have previously created a flamingo home décor piece using the popular flamingo/pigeons quotation so I went for something different this time.

I created the quotation in Word and printed it using my laser printer.  I ink blended the paper using distress oxides Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina and sprayed this with water.  After this I sprayed it with Winterberry Distress Mica Stain.

Once I'd finished all the inking I used my Minc machine to foil the laser printed quote in gold.

I stamped a couple of layers of the Altenew Leaf Medallion stamp set and embossed with distress embossing glazes in Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina

The flamingo is cut using the Sizzix Gladys Colorise Die Set.

Valentine's Day Card using Sizzix Lovestruck Colorise Die Set

Good morning, Happy Valentine's Day.  I have a Valentine's card to share, I had to wait to post this until today just in case it got spotted.

After watching the Tim Holtz Live Sizzix release I received an early Valentine's gift from Martyn (the subliminal messages must have worked) and I have used them to create this card.

For this card I have used:
Backround : Distress Oxide blended background (Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Broken China)
and over this I placed a piece of white card with a number of heart apertures cut out of it so that the blended background showed through (Heart apertures cut using the Sizzix Stacked Hearts Tiles die set).

The red hearts and arrow were cut using the Sizzix Lovestruck Colorise Die Set by Tim Holtz and a little bit of Black Soot distress ink applied to the edges.

The sentiment has been created using my Dymo label machine and mounted onto black card.

Sizzix Winston the Snowman Christmas Card

Good morning all.  Happy 1st December, I am celebrating today as this signifies the end of my 10 day isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.  I got away with it quite lightly which is something to be thankful for.

I have a Christmas card to share today.

For this card I have used:

Sizzix Winston Colorize Die Set by Tim Holtz
The background was created using Distress ink and the Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Stencil.
When I had inked through the stencil I gave it a quick spritz with water so the ink would move a little bit and then dried it.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips Slimline Christmas Holly Jolly Set

Sizzix Pumpkinhead Halloween Decorations

Good morning,  I hope you are safe and well.  I have a couple of Halloween projects to share today.

I decided to have a go at a couple of spooky decorations using the Tim Holtz Pumpkinhead die from Sizzix.

For the first project I used Pumpkinhead from Sizzix but swapped his head for a Jack Skellington one.
I painstaking drew all of the white lines on  his suit and added a bat for his tie.
The background is made using distress spray stains over the moon mask from Tim Holtz and then some light sprays of the new distress mica stains for a little sparkle.
The lamp post is a cut file on Cricut Design space cut from black card and with a little bit of gilding wax added.
The pumpkins are Putka Pods that I have painted to look like pumpkins.
The gravestone is from the Sizzix Mr Bones die set.

I'm quite pleased with my first attempt at creating a stone effect.
I used:
Idea-ology vignette crypt box.
Distress grit paste
Distress paints in Pumice Stone, Black Soot and Picket Fence
Distress crayons

For my second project I used Pumpkinhead but kept his head this time.  The colours I used are to match my Pumpkin King decoration.  Instead of a stone effect I covered the crypt box with paper that I had embossed and sanded.

Wally the Walrus Birthday Card Using Sizzix Under the Sea 2

Morning all.  Today have a card to share that was inspired by a trip to Tenby last week.

Currently in Tenby a Walrus has set up residence in the bay which is quite a distance from somewhere in the Arctic where he should be living.  I think it is something like only the 10th record of Walrus ever recorded in the UK so when lockdown eased we headed to Tenby to try to catch a glimpse of Wally the walrus.  We did manage to see him, he spent all of the time in the water while we were there.

So this card features Wally the Walrus.

For my card I have used:
Walrus and Crab are from the Sizzix Under the Sea 2 Die Set - Colorize by Tim Holtz.
Hugs is cut from blue card using the Sizzix Alphanumeric Shadow Upper Thinlits Dies by Tim Holtz and covered with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.
Distress Oxide blended background.
Stamped sentiment is made up from a mix of three stamps.

Here's a couple of images of Wally in the waters at Tenby.

Sizzix Flurry Snowflake Christmas Cards

Good morning all, Day 4 of my Christmas countdown and I have 3 cards to share today.

All these cards were made using a selection of the Sizzix flurry dies and either snowflake DP or stamped snowflakes and clear embossing powder.

They look like quick cards but it took me ages to layer the flurry dies and glue them together

This card is using Sizzix Flurry #3 cut from white card three times and layered together.  The DP is from a Nitwit /LOTV paper pack.

Sizzix Flurry #4 and stamped snowflakes using the MFT Snowflake flurry stamp set

Sizzix Flurry #2 and stamped snowflakes using the MFT Snowflake Flurry stamp set
