Happy World Thinking Day - Brownie Themed Card

Good afternoon and a Happy World Thinking Day to all members of Girlguiding and Girl Scouts.  I have a card to share today,  It's not a thinking day card but it is Brownie themed.

The other Brownie leader at the unit I run left this week after 10 years volunteering so  I made a Brownie themed thank you card to go with her with her leaving gift.

For this card I have used:
Owl Digital Stamp from Pink Cat Studio coloured with copics.
Thank you banner stamp from Clearly Besotted.
DP's are from the Lili of the Valley/Nitwit paper pack "Sunny Side Up"
The ribbon is licensed Brownie merchandise from  the Girlguiding UK website

Hopefully I'll be able to find a replacement leader to avoid having to close the unit.... and just in case you are wondering what World Thinking Day is, it is celebrated annually on 22 February by all Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. when we think about our "sisters" in all the countries of the world, the meaning of Guiding, and its global impact.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon...

Crafty Calendar February Challenge - Love is in the Air

Good afternoon to all.  I'm posting a bit later than normal due to being at work this morning.  I'm glad to get back home out of the gale force winds and all the rain.....will it ever stop raining....

Well January has been and gone so we have a new challenge for February over at Crafty Calendar.  As Valentine's Day is fast approaching our theme for this month is
"Love is in the Air".

For my card I have used:
Bugaboo Stamps Dino Heart 2 image coloured with copics
The DP's are from the Craft Asylum Into the Woods 6 x 6 paper pack.

Now this was going to be a shaker card but I just could get it to look right it so I pulled it all apart and stared again.

Well that's Martyns Valentine card sorted now I just need to remind him to get me something...

Crafty Calendar January Challenge - Something New

Good afternoon to all.  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and here's wishing you a healthy and happy 2016,  I can't believe how quickly the years fly by, it only seems five minutes since the last new year.

We have our first challenge of the year over at Crafty Calendar and for January to celebrate the new year we want to see
SOMETHING NEW
on your creations this month.

For my card I have used:
Little Skater from All Dressed Up (new image) coloured with copics
and no DP's on this card, currently I'm into stamping or embossing backgrounds which has led me to have a sort out of my DP stash and I have managed to reduce this by quite about a third (some are too pretty to let go...).

I have stamped the background for this card using a stamp from Marianne Design called Ice Crystals in a contrasting blue memento ink.
Also loving tone on tone cards at the moment.

You can't really tell on the pictures but the dress has also been covered with clear Wink of Stella and then I have added Diamond Dust to the hems of all the ruffles so there's lots of sparkle going on.

We are sponsored for this challenge by

and

who are offering a £10 gift voucher

Crafty Calendar December Challenge - Let it Snow

Good Morning to all.  Hope everyone is well this morning.  Today is the first Saturday in December so we have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Calendar.

Are you all ready for Christmas?  Now that my Brownies Christmas Concert and craft stall are over which consisted of frantically making Christmas decorations to sell on the on the stall because I'd left it late again (even took to taking some felt decorations with me on a trip to London so I could sew them while I was on the train),  I can start thinking of my own Christmas.  I have just about finished my shopping, but it has got to be wrapped and I still have Christmas cards that need to be made.  So this months challenge theme
"LET IT SNOW"
is the perfect chance to tick another Christmas card off the list.

For my card I have used
Di's Digi image Reindeer Holly coloured with copics.
The DP is from the Disney Minnie Mouse 6 x 6 paper pack.
The kraft frame was cut using the MFT stitched square die.
The Christmas greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

I love making Christmas cards it gives me the change to go mad with glitter and sparkle....I have a cushion on my bed with the phase "When in doubt add glitter"...which is a sentiment I totally agree with....

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Catz - Let It Snow
Natalie & Amy - Christmas

We have two sponsors for this months challenge:

and

you can win a $12 voucher to spend in the store

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Sparkle, Bling & Embellish

Good Morning all.  I hope you are all well on this cold rainy November day.
Well Halloween & Bonfire Night have been and gone so it's time that I started thinking about making a start on my Christmas crafting.

For a few years I've made Christmas decorations and candles that I sell to raise funds for my Brownie unit and I always say I will start making these earlier in the year so that it's not a mad rush finishing the items off the day before the Christmas Fayre......seeing as I haven't made any yet I don't think this year will be any different, but at least with this months challenge card I've made a start on my Christmas cards.

It's the first Saturday in the month so the a new challenge over at

Crafty Calendar is
Sparkle, Bling and Embellish.

For my card I have used

  • Valerie with Snowball by Mo Manning from Stamping Bella coloured with copics.
  • The background is kraft card and I have added some sparkle using the Imagination Crafts Multi Snow Dots Stencil with Aurora Sparkle Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste.
  • The Snowflakes are die cut using the Memory Box Precious Snowflake die with a little gem in the centre for added sparkle.

We are sponsored for this challenge by Brenda's Lace & Ribbon Specials
who is offering this gorgeous goody bag of embellishments.

For my card I have used:
Tim Holtz Halloween Silhouette Stamp Set.  I inked the Halloween word background with Distress ink pads in Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves and then sprayed the stamp with water before applying it to the watercolour paper.  Then it was embossed using the Halloween Silhouette embossing folder.

The theme is month is "Anything Goes" so all creations are welcome.

For my card I have used:

When I looked at this image I felt that she need gingham paper to go with her, both the DP's are from a from a paper pack which was a freebie with a magaine.
The embossed circle was made by added distress inks to a glass mat, spritzing with water and then pressing down watercolour paper onto it.  Then I ran it through my cricut with an embossing folder.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - BINGO

Good afternoon to all.  A little later posting than normal due to having been at work this morning and then having to try and get used to using Windows 10.   After using Windows 7 for a number of years it takes a little getting used to.

Today is the 1st of August so definitely the first Saturday of the month which means we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and this month we are playing
"BINGO"

For my card I have used:
The image is "Sunshine Bubbles"  by That Craft Place coloured with copics
The DP is from the Wild Rose Studio Polka Dots paper pack

I had a nightmare colouring this image, as I coloured it all my skin colour copics that I normally use decided to run out so it didn't quite turn out how it was supposed to look....

Here's the BINGO card to go with the challenge, just use 3 items in either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line, or use every item for a full house.   On my card I managed two lines, a diagonal - pink, kraft and buttons and the first vertical column - pink, die cuts and faux stitching.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Aurora Wings Fancy Fold Card

Good morning to all.   I think summer has finally arrived.  The weather is warmer, the sun is shining and unfortunately I'm at work all this weekend unable to enjoy it,,,,well until 1pm each day so I may get a few hours of sunshine in the afternoon.

It's the first Saturday in June so it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar.

For this month the theme is
"FANCY FOLDS"
so for me it's time to ditch the standard square card.

For my card I have made a Z fold card (I think that's what it's called, please comment and put me right if I'm mistaken).
I have used Strawberry Sprite by Aurora Wings and I've coloured the image with Koh-i-noor & Coloursoft Pencils.
The DP's are freebies from a magazine.

With June being the month of Wimbledon and strawberries and cream I thought this image was perfect for this months challenge.
