Crafty Calendar February Challenge - MFT Monster Love Valentine Card

Good afternoon, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  A little late posting today as I was working this morning and then out at the theatre this afternoon.   A few of us go every year to see the annual Agatha Christie production.  This years play was Murder on the Orient Express, I must admit I was curious how they would adapt it to the stage but it was fab.

As it is the first Saturday in the month so we have a new challenge over
at Crafty Calendar and the theme is "HEARTS" and I went for a lot of hearts...

For  my card I have used:
  • The monsters are from the Monster Love stamp set by MFT (My Favorite Things) stamped in Bee Sting and Love Struck Simon Hurley inks.
  • The background was created using the Simon Hurley stencil Happy Hearts and the same Bee Sting and Love Struck inks.  You can't really tell in the photo but the Bee Sting hearts have a bit of sparkle from the addition of some Astro Paste.
  • The black heart was embossed using the Sizzix embossing folder Confetti Hearts.

Crafty Calendar January Add a Die Cut Challenge - Delightful Butterflies Birthday Card

Good morning and a happy new year,  I don't really make resolutions but I normally state that I will get through the various craft kits that I have received over the years and never got round to doing so we will see how that goes.  It's the first Saturday in January 2025 so we have a new monthly challenge for you over at Crafty Calendar and the theme for this month is
Add a Die Cut.

For my card I have used:
Crafters Companion Photopolymer Stamp - Delightful Butterflies stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
After I heat embossed I sprinkled some color burst powders over the top of the butterflies and then sprayed the image with water so that the powders react and give little explosions of colour over the background.
The sentiment was die cut using the Lawn Fawn Scripty Happy Lawn Cut die.

Sizzix Santa Greetings and Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie Christmas Tree Decorations

Good morning, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Today I have woken up to a blanket of snow, luckily I work from home so I can look out of the window and think how nice it looks and not have to worry about travelling to work in it.

When I went to the Frankfurt Market in Birmingham I saw a Christmas tree ornament on one of the stalls and that inspired me to make these.

I have made two Christmas tree ornaments which are snowy windows and each of them have a character looking through.

For this Christmas tree ornament I have used the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Cling Mount Stamp: Mr Frostie (CMS499) coloured with copics and then fussy cut.

He was then layered in between the the window frames and snowy acetate

And for this Christmas Tree Decoration I have used Sizzix Santa Greetings Die Set by Tim Holtz layered in between the window frames.

The little sentiments on each of then are from the Lili of the Valley 60 Everything Christmas - Sentiment Labels which I printed using a laser printer and then foiled in gold

I then just added couple of gold pearls to each sentiment, a bow and some gold string.

Spellbinders Floral Celebration BetterPress Birthday Card

Good afternoon, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  I just have a quick post today to share this card made using the Spellbinders BetterPress.  I love my BetterPress and I don't think I have shared a card that I have made using it yet so I need to catch up with my posts, I do have a backlog of cards to share.

For this card I have used:
Spellbinders Floral Celebration Press Plate.  This plate has coordinating stencils which I used to colour the image.  My favourite colour combination at the moment is Distress inks in Saltwater Taffy and Salvaged Patina so I used these and added a little bit of Squeezed Lemonade.

The sentiment is cut using the Waffle Flower Happy Birthday Print & Script Die.
I coloured some card using Saltwater Taffy Distress ink so that the sentiment matched the background image.  I cut the sentiment a few times and glued them together to give a little bit of dimension and added a layer of glossy accents over the top.

Crafty Calendar July Challenge - Sheepski Designs Beach Huts Birthday Card

Good morning, I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Can you believe it's July already..... It's the first Saturday in the month so we have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
Add a Sentiment.

I know that Christmas in July is a thing and Christmas crafty products are all over the place at the moment but I've been making a lot of summer themed cards lately and I'm still in summer card making mode so my card is beach themed.  Maybe next month I'll try an early Christmas card....

For my card I have used:

Beach Hut Holiday digital stamp from Sheepski Designs coloured with copics.  I fussy cut the beach huts and deckchair and added them to some layers of brown card for the sand, an ink blended cloud sky and a torn layer of blue card for the waves.

The sentiment is from the Waffle Flower Inquisitive Seagulls stamp set.

Spellbinders April 2024 Large Die of the Month - Pins and Needles Jar Birthday Card

Good morning I hope you are keeping safe and well on this rainy wet Friday morning.

I have a sewing themed birthday card to share today that I created for my Sister-in-law using dies from the Spellbinders April 2024 club kits.  She loves sewing so this kit was perfect.

I have used for this card:

With this set you get the dies to cut the jar, lid and pincushion and also the dies to cut all of the sewing accessories that are inside the jar.

I cut the jar three times.  On the base layer I ink-blended lightly with some Tumbled Glass Distress ink and glued down all of the assembled sewing elements.

The other two jars I fussy cut an aperture and layered a piece of acetate between them and then glued that onto top of the base jar.  I was tempted to add a few shaker bits but I decided not to and left it so you could see the various sewing elements glued inside to the base layer of the jar.

The background is a piece of black card embossed with the Spellbinders Monoline Stars Embossing Folder.

Glossy accents on the balloons.
