Sizzix Gladys the Flamingo Home Décor Project

Good morning.  Hope you are well.  I have a home décor project to share today.

Flamingos are one of my favourite birds so when I saw Gladys on the Tim Holtz Sizzix release I couldn't resist her.

I have previously created a flamingo home décor piece using the popular flamingo/pigeons quotation so I went for something different this time.

I created the quotation in Word and printed it using my laser printer.  I ink blended the paper using distress oxides Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina and sprayed this with water.  After this I sprayed it with Winterberry Distress Mica Stain.

Once I'd finished all the inking I used my Minc machine to foil the laser printed quote in gold.

I stamped a couple of layers of the Altenew Leaf Medallion stamp set and embossed with distress embossing glazes in Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina

The flamingo is cut using the Sizzix Gladys Colorise Die Set.

Valentine's Day Card using Sizzix Lovestruck Colorise Die Set

Good morning, Happy Valentine's Day.  I have a Valentine's card to share, I had to wait to post this until today just in case it got spotted.

After watching the Tim Holtz Live Sizzix release I received an early Valentine's gift from Martyn (the subliminal messages must have worked) and I have used them to create this card.

For this card I have used:
Backround : Distress Oxide blended background (Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Broken China)
and over this I placed a piece of white card with a number of heart apertures cut out of it so that the blended background showed through (Heart apertures cut using the Sizzix Stacked Hearts Tiles die set).

The red hearts and arrow were cut using the Sizzix Lovestruck Colorise Die Set by Tim Holtz and a little bit of Black Soot distress ink applied to the edges.

The sentiment has been created using my Dymo label machine and mounted onto black card.

Crafty Calendar January Challenge - Little Skater from All Dressed Up Stamps

Good afternoon and a happy new year.   I hope you had a good Christmas.  After covid and then a busy December it was nice to have a two week break from work with no urgent jobs to do.

We have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar today.  You may have spotted that it is not the first Saturday of January, the first Saturday was last week New Years Day so we decided to put the challenge back a week, give us time to recover from New Years Eve....

The theme this month is
ANYTHING GOES

I created a wintery birthday card, well it was snowing yesterday.....

I have used Little Skater from All Dressed Up Stamps coloured with polychromos pencils
The birthday sentiment is two layer chipboard,  The top layer has been embossed with white and the bottom layer coloured using a black copic marker
The DP's are from my stash.

Crafty Calendar December Challenge - A Little Gift from Lili of the Valley Christmas Card

Good morning all.   Hope you are all safe and well,   I'm now fully recovered from Covid-19, so have started to catch up on some Christmas crafting.  Unlike previous years I think I am nearly ready for Christmas, I now have the majority of cards done, the presents are nearly wrapped, so hopefully I will have time to fit in some other Christmas crafting projects.

It's the first Saturday in December so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
'CHRISTMAS'

For my card I have used:
I masked the image so that I could ink blend the background with Distress Oxides in Villainous Purple, Prize Ribbon and Broken China
I added stars using gold paste and the Spellbinders All the Stars stencil.
The image was then coloured with copics.
I stamped some snowflakes on the base card using the three distress oxide colours I used for the background....I just couldn't find a DP that I liked to go with the image.
I added glossy accents and rock candy glitter to the hats and snowy ground

Sizzix Winston the Snowman Christmas Card

Good morning all.  Happy 1st December, I am celebrating today as this signifies the end of my 10 day isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.  I got away with it quite lightly which is something to be thankful for.

I have a Christmas card to share today.

For this card I have used:

Sizzix Winston Colorize Die Set by Tim Holtz
The background was created using Distress ink and the Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Stencil.
When I had inked through the stencil I gave it a quick spritz with water so the ink would move a little bit and then dried it.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips Slimline Christmas Holly Jolly Set

Crafty Calendar November Challenge - Snow Birds Christmas Card

Good morning.  I hope you are all safe and well this morning.  I had a busy week last week,  had a few days in Norfolk birdwatching with the OH, then off to Cheshire Oaks, the NEC to the Creative Craft Show and then finishing off with a trip to Birmingham to the Frankfurt Christmas Market, I think I need a few days to recover....

It's the first Saturday in November and we have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this week is Anything Goes.

For my cards I have a couple of variations to share.

They have all the same elements but are different colours and the birds have been coloured differently.

The image is from a set by Artsystamper called Snow Birds and is an American bird called a Chickadee but I have tried to colour it based on British birds.  For the first card I based the colours on a Great Tit and for the second one is based on a Coal Tit.

The foliage and flowers are cut using the Perfect Pinecones die set from Stamps by Me.
The background is embossed using the Lumber embossing folder from Sizzix/Tim Holtz with a touch of gilding wax.

Sizzix Pumpkinhead Halloween Decorations

Good morning,  I hope you are safe and well.  I have a couple of Halloween projects to share today.

I decided to have a go at a couple of spooky decorations using the Tim Holtz Pumpkinhead die from Sizzix.

For the first project I used Pumpkinhead from Sizzix but swapped his head for a Jack Skellington one.
I painstaking drew all of the white lines on  his suit and added a bat for his tie.
The background is made using distress spray stains over the moon mask from Tim Holtz and then some light sprays of the new distress mica stains for a little sparkle.
The lamp post is a cut file on Cricut Design space cut from black card and with a little bit of gilding wax added.
The pumpkins are Putka Pods that I have painted to look like pumpkins.
The gravestone is from the Sizzix Mr Bones die set.

I'm quite pleased with my first attempt at creating a stone effect.
I used:
Idea-ology vignette crypt box.
Distress grit paste
Distress paints in Pumice Stone, Black Soot and Picket Fence
Distress crayons

For my second project I used Pumpkinhead but kept his head this time.  The colours I used are to match my Pumpkin King decoration.  Instead of a stone effect I covered the crypt box with paper that I had embossed and sanded.
