Crafty Calendar January Challenge - Little Skater from All Dressed Up Stamps

Good afternoon and a happy new year.   I hope you had a good Christmas.  After covid and then a busy December it was nice to have a two week break from work with no urgent jobs to do.

We have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar today.  You may have spotted that it is not the first Saturday of January, the first Saturday was last week New Years Day so we decided to put the challenge back a week, give us time to recover from New Years Eve....

The theme this month is
ANYTHING GOES

I created a wintery birthday card, well it was snowing yesterday.....

I have used Little Skater from All Dressed Up Stamps coloured with polychromos pencils
The birthday sentiment is two layer chipboard,  The top layer has been embossed with white and the bottom layer coloured using a black copic marker
The DP's are from my stash.

Crafty Calendar April Challenge 'Add a Butterfly' Card

Good afternoon, I hope you are keeping safe and well and at home during this time.  The world is a very strange place at the moment.  I'm still going out to work so I don't have too much lockdown time to have fill but I have managed to up-cycle a Ikea toolbox into a sewing box which has been a pending project for a while.

It's the first Saturday in the month and we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar and the theme this month is
'ADD A BUTTERFLY'

For my card I have quite a few butterflies.

I have used:
Butterfly Curl digi image from this months sponsor SheepSki Designs coloured with copics and polychromos pencils.

To try to get the butterfly colours as natural as possible I got my Collins 'How to Identify Butterflies'  book from the shelf and loosely based them on actual butterflies...Brimstone, Common Blue, Clouded Yellow, Small Copper and Large Blue, when I say loosely based I mean very loosely.

Oh and here's my up-cycled sewing box lockdown project...

An Ikea Lustigt toolbox, @hobbycraft white chalk paint, @vivadecor_creative_color napkin glue and topcoat and a pack of paper napkins from my local @Sainsbury.

Feel Better Soon card with Melonheadz Get Well Clip Art

Good morning all.  Happy Wednesday, I hope you are having a good one.  I have a card to share today that I made especially for my five year old niece who had a little accident last week when she fell over and broke her arm.

I managed to find the perfect image for this card over at Melonheadz.
The image is Broken Arm Girl from the Get Well Clip Art Line Art Set which I coloured with Polychromos pencils.

My niece has an orange cast on her arm so the card started with the orange and pink chipboard frame and everything else was co-ordinated with this.

The Feel Better Soon sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Chit Chat stamp set.

Crafty Calendar April Challenge - Buttons or Bows with A Day for Daisies

Good morning all.  Hope you are well and having good day.  I was a bit under the weather all over Easter but I'm just starting to feel a little better so hopefully all the germs are leaving me now.

It's the first Saturday in April so we have a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar.
Our theme for this month is:
BUTTONS and/or BOWS.

For my card I have used
Ducks in a Row digital stamp from A Day For Daisies.
I printed the image and sentiment using my laser printer and then added gold Decofoil by running the image and a sheet of foil through my laminator so that the gold foil adheres to the laser ink.
I coloured the image with polychromos pencils.
I mounted the image on card and added a chipboard flower and a button centre.

I was having so much trouble trying to get a photo that showed that the image was foiled but eventually this one shows that it is actually gold.

Happy Easter Card using Cottontail Cuties from Neat & Tangled

Good afternoon to all and a very happy Easter.
Have you got through all that chocolate yet?  I've resisted so far but may have to open an egg a bit later.

I have another Easter card to share today.  My first attempt of a slider card.  I did cheat a little by using an SVG file that I found on Lori Whitlock and my cricut.
I also made a little bunny gift bag with another SVG file...image and details below..

For my card I have used:
Cottontail Cuties stamp set from Neat & Tangled coloured with polychromos pencils and then cut with my Scan n Cut.
The card layout is an SVG file called Slider Card Easter Bunny from Lori Whitlock.  I just used the card layout sections & clouds from the SVG file and cut with my cricut,
I added the little girl image to the slider section  of the card and so when the tab is pulled she delivers an Easter carrot to the waiting bunny....

The Easter bunny box with goodies in for my niece was cut on my cricut using the Easter Bunny Tote SVG file from Lori Whitlock.

Crafty Calendar Mythical Creatures January Challenge

Good morning all.  First post of 2018.  A day later than it was supposed to be but yesterday after going to work and then spending the afternoon packing all the Christmas decorations away into the loft I just didn't get chance.

We have a new monthly challenge over at Crafty Calendar and this month the theme is
'MYTHICAL CREATURES'
so we'd like to see lots of fairies, goblins, dragons and the like on this months projects.

For my card I have used

Crafty Calender November Challenge - Autumn Colours

Good morning all.  Hope you are having a good day today.

I've had a couple of days of work so Friday was a shopping trip to Cheshire Oaks looking for bargains and on Thursday I went to the Birmingham NEC Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show.  I managed to pick up some crafty goodies and had a go at making a polymer clay Christmas decoration, my first time with polymer clay was okay but if I was doing it at home I would have taken a little more time over it.

Today is the first Saturday in the month so we have a new challenge over
at Crafty Calendar and our theme for this month is:
AUTUMN COLOURS
so time to find out those browns, reds and oranges for this months projects.

For my card I have used:

Three images from the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set by My Favorite Things coloured with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
The orange tartan paper is from the Craftwork Cards Contemporary Tartan 8 x 8 paper pack and the autumn leaves paper is from the Docrafts Tilly Daydream A4 paper pack.
The green leaf was cut using my Cricut and the fall leaves file from the Creativebug set.
Happy birthday sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings stamp set, stamped with versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Other items from my stash.

Mother days card for Crafty Calendar March Challenge

Good afternoon to everyone.  I hope that you're all well on the rainy Saturday afternoon. Today I got up and decided to sort my wardrobe out, do you ever wish you hadn't started doing a job because it then got more involved and took more time than anticipated.  At least it's finished now.

Today is the first Saturday in March so we have a new monthly challenge for you over at Crafty Calendar.  Here in the UK tomorrow is Mother's Day so our theme for this month is
MUM's DAY or SPECIAL FEMALE.

For this challenge I have tried a different style of card.....

I have printed the image 'A Special Flower' from A Day for Daisies onto textured card then coloured with Faber-Castell polychromos.
I cut the textured card to a 13.8cm square with my image in the bottom corner then printed the greeting 'Best Mom' from Digistamp Boutique.
I then stamped a few flowers and coloured them, doodled a wiggly border, added some perfect pearls onto the flowers and the butterfly is from the Butterfly Wishes III stamp set from Clearly Besotted.

It was going to be a one layer card but I couldn't resist adding the butterfly and then layering onto pink card before added it to the white 6" card blank.

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

who are offering the winner 3 digis of their choice

and

who are offering a £10 voucher to spend in store

Pop over to Crafty Calendar and share with us your creations for this months challenge and check out the gorgeous DT creations.

Now off to visit my Mom and deliver her card...hope she likes it.

See you soon

Hugs x
